Today, both Surya and Chandra will be in the Vrish Rashi (Taurus), ruled by Shukra (Venus). It is also the auspicious day when married women observe the Vat Savitri Vrat, worship the Banyan tree and pray for their husbands' long life. And interestingly, today is also the day when the first Valayakar Surya Grahan is expected to occur. However, since this celestial phenomenon won't be visible in India, Sutak rules need not be followed.

Furthermore, today, the Tantrics shall celebrate Bagalmukhi Jayanti and also attain Siddhis. The Sabar Mantra Siddhi shall be acquired today.

Worship Lord Shiva and the Kali avatar of his consort, Durga. Chant the Bagalmukhi Mantra and the Guru Beej Mantra, read the Bhairon Stotra and the Siddha Kunjika Stotra.

The Sun shall be in the Vrish Rashi (Taurus) for a few more days, while the Moon shall move to the Vrish Rashi (Taurus). The Rohini Nakshatra shall prevail today. Scroll down to know other important details.

It is important to worship and read the Panchang every morning because it helps in determining the auspicious and inauspicious timings. The Abhijeet Muhurat is deemed as the most auspicious Muhurat. It is ideal for making new beginnings. Vijay Muhurat and Godhuli Muhurat are also equally favourable. However, one must avoid Rahu Kaal for beginning any new venture or stepping out of the house for auspicious work.

For the unversed, the Panchang is a calendar based on the conventional units of the traditional Hindu timekeeping system that registers all the significant moments (muhurat and kaala) of the day including the Nakshatra that prevails other than the sunrise, moonrise timings, and several details. The Panchang precisely mentions the tithi, nakshatrayogyakarana, and vaar.

Hindus follow the Lunar as well as the Solar calendars for various purposes. Therefore, it is suggested that people rise early, take a bath, and after worshipping the deities, read the Panchang. They can choose the best time for beginning any important venture and initiating something new.
